Change a Spark with AI

You don't edit a Spark's code by hand — you tell Lino AI what to change. There are three ways in: Modify with AI changes the Spark itself, Remix with AI changes a copy and leaves the original alone, and Fix with AI appears when a Spark hits an error.

Modify with AI

Use this to improve a Spark you're keeping: add a button, change the layout, restyle it, fix something that doesn't work the way you want.

  1. Right-click the Spark on the Canvas and choose Modify with AI. You can also find it in the More menu of the Spark's Right Panel tab, or in its right-click menu in the Artifacts Gallery.
  2. The Lino AI panel opens with the Spark attached to your message. The attachment has a Modify / Remix switch, set to Modify, and says "Modify this Spark directly".
  3. Type what you want changed. For example: "Add a reset button and make the pads bigger."
  4. Send. Lino opens the Spark in the Right Panel so you can watch it change.

Lino AI changes only the parts of the page you asked about. The Spark's saved data is never touched — your scores, entries and settings stay as they were.

You can also change a Spark without the menu: @-mention it in the Lino AI panel and ask for the change.

Remix with AI

Use this when you like a Spark but want a different version — a quiz for another subject, a drum machine with other sounds — and want to keep the original as it is.

  1. Right-click the Spark and choose Remix with AI (or flip the switch on the attachment to Remix). The attachment says "Create a copy, then modify".
  2. Type what the new version should be, and send.
  3. Lino copies the Spark first — named after the original with "(copy)" at the end — and opens the copy in the Right Panel. Lino AI then changes the copy.

The copy starts with the original's saved data. Its Properties show Forked from, pointing at the Spark it came from. The copy is in the Artifacts Gallery; place it on a Canvas when you want it there.

Fix with AI

When a running Spark hits an error, Lino covers it with a notice: This Spark hit an error, followed by the exact error message. The Spark is covered because after an error its page may no longer work properly, and further clicks often fail the same way.

  • Click Fix with AI to send the error to Lino AI. This is Modify with AI with the message already written for you — review it and send.
  • Click Dismiss to close the notice and keep using what still works.

Lino AI checks every Spark it builds or changes for errors when the page starts, before telling you it is ready. That check doesn't click anything, so a problem that only shows up on, say, the second tap is caught here instead.

Rename or recategorize a Spark

The title, description and category are Properties, so you can change them yourself. Click the Properties button in the Spark's top-left corner on the Canvas (or choose Properties in its Right Panel tab's More menu), then edit Title, Description or Category. You can also ask Lino AI to do it.
