Memory & Profile
Lino AI grows with you. It learns your preferences, vocabulary, and workflows, saving them across sessions so you don't have to repeat your instructions.
The Memory Layers
Lino AI uses two distinct memory scopes:
1. Canvas-level Memory
- Scope: Tied strictly to the current canvas.
- Content: The overall purpose of the canvas, progress milestones (what's done, what's next), and specific rules or writing structures for this project.
- Use Case: Telling the AI: "On this canvas, always write scripts using a 4-part structure and reference local studies."
2. User-level Memory
- Scope: Follows you across your entire workspace, spanning all canvases.
- Content: Core facts about you, synonyms/terminology preferences, and global writing styles.
- Use Case: Telling the AI: "I prefer technical terms in English and brief summaries," or correcting a factual statement.
Managing Your Memories (Who-I-Am)
You can view, edit, or delete what Lino AI remembers about you:
- Open User Settings.
- Go to the Who-I-Am tab.
- Review your personal profile and the list of saved facts under the Memory section. You can delete incorrect facts or type in new constraints directly.
Dreaming (Background Consolidation)
When your device is idle or Lino is running in the background, a low-intensity AI maintenance worker runs a process called Dreaming:
- Progress consolidation: It reviews your recent chat turns, cleans up finished goals, and consolidates canvas memory to prevent it from growing too large.
- Fact Promotion: If the AI notices a recurring preference or factual correction you made in a canvas, it compiles a proposal to save this globally. The next time you open the app, it will ask for your confirmation to save this fact to your permanent profile.
