Inbox Stack

The Inbox Stack (Inbox for short) is the pile in the bottom-left corner where new things wait before they're on a Canvas. What Lino AI makes for you, notes from Quick Entry or your phone, and imported files all land here first. You decide where each one goes.

Things in the Inbox are already real Artifacts — they're in your Artifacts Gallery and you can search, open and mention them. They just don't have a spot on a Canvas yet.

What lands in the Inbox

  • Lino AI's work. When Lino AI creates Cards, Images, Tables, Sketches or Sparks, or brings in an existing Artifact for you, they go to the Inbox — never straight onto a Canvas, not even onto a Canvas it just made. Placing them is up to you.
  • Quick Entry captures (⌘⇧L from anywhere on your Mac).
  • Mobile captures from your phone.
  • Imports and synced notes from Obsidian, Logseq and Bear.

When something new arrives, the Inbox opens briefly to show it, then folds back into its stack.

Look through the Inbox

  1. Hover the stack to open it into a carousel of previews.
  2. Scroll to move through the items.
  3. Hover an item to lift it and see it more clearly.

Above the carousel, a row of group tabs sorts the items:

  • Lino AI's work is grouped by conversation turn — everything one reply produced is one group, named after its first item (for example "Photosynthesis +3").
  • Everything else is grouped by when it arrived: Today, Yesterday, This week, Older.

Each tab shows an icon for where it came from (Lino AI, Mobile, Obsidian, Logseq, Bear, Import, or Quick Entry) and a count. Click a tab to show that group. Hover a tab and click the pin to Pin group, which keeps it first in the row.

Place things on a Canvas

  • One item: drag it from the carousel and drop it where you want it on the Canvas.
  • A whole group: click Place in the Inbox header. Every item in the group is laid out on the Canvas you're on.

Placing moves the item out of the Inbox and onto the Canvas. ⌘Z undoes a placement; one Place is one undo step.

You need to be on a Canvas to place things — on a Space's top Canvas or the Daily Drafts / Archived calendar, Place asks you to "Open a canvas to place this group".

Clear the Inbox

  • Clear removes the group you're looking at from the Inbox.
  • Clear all empties the Inbox.

Clearing doesn't delete anything — the Artifacts stay in your Artifacts Gallery, ready to be placed later from there. To really delete an item, right-click it → Delete.
